Letter from Anne and Richard (Narad) to Mother

January 18, 1969

Dear Mother,

Richard and I felt that we should write to You of the results of our first day of work at the Center yesterday.

Much was accomplished in a short time; weeding, grading and leveling the area around the rock garden, grading the raised areas and filing in holes were the rains had caused erosion. On Monday we plant to complete the outside grading around the hill area and will plant "Sri Aurobindo's Compassion" so that some beauty and color will be there for Fe. 28th.

All those whose names were sent to You (Howard, Bob Lawlor, Richard and myself) came and worked, plus many others. Among those who helped were David, Francis, Janet, Harry (English boy), Danielle, Shyama and Frederick.

Mother, should these people who wish to work with us write to You for Your approval and Blessings or should we allow the work to remain open for anyone?

There was an overall harmonious atmosphere and we pray that this will continue throughout this work and that we may establish the "Peace" within ourselves that already exists there in the land.

We are so filled with gratitude that we are given this opportunity to work for the Divine.

Eternal love,

Anne and Richard
